Aim
How can home, school, and community work together to improve educational outcomes across diverse contexts? This special issue invites submissions from scholars to broaden the lens on how such collaborations can enhance language learning, cultural exchange, and educational experience.
Scope and Themes
Topics to be covered in this special issue will include, but not limited to:
- Community Resources: Investigating how community entities like libraries, museums, and local businesses can serve as extensions or catalysts of language learning and cultural awareness.
- Inclusive Education: Explore practices or initiatives that provide linguistic opportunities for marginalized or underserved populations within the community.
- Technology Integration: Examine how various technologies are changing the way that home, schools, and communities work together to develop language skills.
- Cultural Festivals and Local Traditions: Probe into how cultural events and local traditions can be integrated into language curriculum to cultivate a richer and more engaging learning experience.
- Inter-generational Learning Practices: Investigate programs that encourage language learning and cultural transfer across different age groups within the community.
- Early Childhood Education: Explore how homes, preschools, and communities are working together to support language development and early cultural education.
- Policy Initiatives: Analyze existing language or cultural policies and forward recommendations to facilitate collaborations among homes, schools, and community partners.
- Urban and Rural Collaborative Differences: Compare and contrast the unique challenges and opportunities in language learning in urban versus rural settings for home, school, and community collaborations.
- Evaluating Impact: Assess the influence or effectiveness of home, school, and community partnerships in language outcomes and cultural competence.
