As of May 2014, it contained around 160 million documents, covering approximately 80-90% of all articles published in English. Typically, it takes about 3-5 weeks for new research to be indexed.
Academia.edu is a social networking site for academics, enabling them to share papers, track their impact, and stay updated on research in specific fields. Launched in September 2008, it had 31 million registered users and over 8 million uploaded texts by January 2016. The platform provides tools to monitor the progress of shared research, offering statistics on referring sources, abstract views, and article downloads.
Zenodo is an online digital repository designed for researchers to preserve and share their research outputs, including figures, datasets, images, and videos. Adhering to the principle of open data, it offers free content uploads and access. Created by OpenAIRE and CERN, Zenodo provides a platform for researchers to deposit their datasets.
OpenAIRE is a comprehensive and open dataset of research information covering 189m publications, 62m research data, 380k research software items, from 141k data sources, linked to 3m grants and 318k organizations.
